Spaced repetition over the real dictionary. A word you get right comes back later and later; a word you miss comes back today. Nothing leaves your browser, progress lives in this device’s local storage, with no account and no network.

Why it is built this way

The deck is generated from the dictionary at build time, so it is never out of date and never a separate list to maintain. The schedule is a plain Leitner box, six intervals, 1 day up to 90, which is the boring, well-evidenced version of spaced repetition, and small enough that you can see exactly what it is doing (the card shows its box).

Grading is on your honour, which is the point: saying the word out loud before you reveal is what actually builds recall. The Listen only mode is the hardest and the most useful, Faleni is spelled exactly as it sounds, so if you can hear it you can write it.
